I see that Goldman Sachs had already reopened their offices in EMEA and US in June, but going back to office was voluntary. https://www.goldmansachs.com/media-relations/in-the-news/current/10-jun-2020-to-all-return-to-office.html However, as per recent update, they are calling more employees back to office on rotational basis and it no longer seems voluntary. https://www.goldmansachs.com/media-relations/in-the-news/current/09-sep-2020-to-all-return-to-office.html This involves not only traders, but also engineers! Could GS folks give insights on this?
Am in Engineering it is voluntary
"voluntary"...
There has definitely been more noise from management about returning to office, but each one is always caveated that they recognize each person has unique and personal considerations around childcare, elderly care, personal health, concerns around taking public transportation etc. it sounds like each person just needs to talk to their manager about expectations and how return to office may or may not work for them.
Is "scared of getting sick from covid" a good enough reason to talk to manager for a single person with no elderly people or children in house? I thought every life mattered.
They ain’t paying me that much to risk my family’s health.
Still voluntary on my team and will likely remain that way for the rest of the year. A lot of people are going on select days now

What's your location, mate? Have you been contacted to come back to office some time this month? 😶
NYC, haven't been contacted but expect to be soon. Might do one week in, one week out. Don't know, don't want to go back just yet if half the people won't be there anyway....
