So I received a verbal offer from Goldman Sachs where the base pay offered was 120k for a VP of Product management role in Salt Lake City, Utah. The total compensation is 130k( Base and bonus) . Can you please help me on the below questions: 1) is the base pay in par with what is currently offered at a VP level in Goldman at Salt Lake City. What is the maximum at a VP role one can expect in Salt Lake City area 2) what is the expected bonus as someone joining the firm mid year around July- august timeframe. 3) are engineering salaries comparitevely higher than product management salaries? 4) do they give stock options ? Is total Compensation inline with company average for this position. Please let me know #finance #goldman sachs #product #interview #finance
Goldman comp is a joke for a VP level - this is super bad regardless of any location
They did mention target bonus and can expect lower or higher based on performance
Goldman doesn't have a D-level, so VP range could be junior VP, senior VP or D-level at other banks. VP comp in Goldman can go up to 400k+. Yours is at junior level.
I see! I am not very sure which category it is. So what’s the maximum on base one can target for a junior VP level?
No. Negotiate. Your base pay is not on par. Bonus will be 8-15 percent in btwn. Yes engineering salaries are higher than product. I guess no stock options. But check with recruiter,
How is product management different from engineering role
A lot. SWE salaries are way too higher than product. At Goldman it’s not a huge difference any way.
