First, nice TC dude at 4YOE. It should be mostly due to stock appreciation. Did you spent all 4 years at LI? Second, internal transfer why not through Linkedin?

LinkedIn tokugawa OP Nov 1, 2020

Not all 4, but a lot of it. Internal transfer here is an option, but idk what would the policy be like post Covid.

LinkedIn >/dev/nul| Nov 1, 2020

I think the policy will remain similar, for your YOE it would be easy to meet new H1B policies, and Linkedin has a preference while applying to H1B afaik.

Atlassian allows international transfers.

LinkedIn tokugawa OP Nov 1, 2020

I heard it's pretty tough. Do you know the exact policy?

For stripe just apply to Singapore or Dublin (or many other locations) directly if you are OK with outside US. They have many openings right now.

LinkedIn tokugawa OP Nov 1, 2020

I have applied couple of times. No luck as yet šŸ˜…. Their reqs are so generic, hard to say what they are looking for.

Does stripe have engineering jobs in India?

Uber whober! Nov 1, 2020

Uber would be your best bet here as they allow international transfers along with a good TC and good quality work! Also extensively hiring in India currently.

LinkedIn tokugawa OP Nov 1, 2020

I heard Uber has been clamping down on international transfers to save costs. Is that true?

Uber bnhaqweru Nov 1, 2020

Before the pandemic, few people moved to Uber NYC from India. Not really sure what the future will look like once H1B/L1B visa ban is removed EOY.

Uber {}} Nov 1, 2020

Apple doesn't support AFAIK. Google is your best bet. Uber requires just spending 2 years in India before going to US. GS, nutanix no chance.

Amazon ahhAahOMG Nov 1, 2020

Goldman Sachs and "2) Decent projects" will not go well together - in most of the teams the work is shitty. You'd have to be really lucky to find a good gig

IEEE pEvV35 Nov 2, 2020

I heard their CIMD Marcus team does good work?

Uber bnhaqweru Nov 1, 2020

Uber allows internal transfers after 2 years, but with current visa issues in US, I don't really think any company will encourage internal transfer.

Cohesity hamee Nov 1, 2020

No for Cohesity.

Geico nyEX34 Nov 1, 2020

Why not?

Cohesity hamee Nov 1, 2020

They are aggressively hiring in india. They won't move anyone to US I guess direction is ramping up engineers in india. That being said its good time to enter in cohesity since they are looking for good engineers. Maybe in future transfer is possible but it doesn't look like it right now
