Asking for friend He has a Sr. SWE offer with okta. Looking at the macro environment and recent performance of okta as a company, do you ppl think it’s a good time to join ? Are there any talks about potential layoffs in the near future? TC - 245k
Can’t say much, but I wouldn’t be joining now. Many people are leaving and it is getting worst.
Where are they going to?
Anywhere to reset stock. It's down nearly 50% in a month
Depends - what team? Knowing what I know now, I'd def join again. Stock likely won't be much lower, either.
If you're referring to Platform & Workforce Core, that's a good team. Not a lot of attrition that I'm personally aware of, with good WLB and solid team. Negatives are that the dev tooling (ide, ci/cd, etc) is clunky and ramp up in general takes awhile. Lots of tribal knowledge. I've been an architect in the past and felt like a junior at times early on.
Sorry, off topic, how is Twilio doing? I hear you guys have a hiring freeze, any layoffs on the horizon?
Am curious about this too
