I have am offer from credit karma . With covid impacting business and intuit buying credit karma is it a good time to join? will there be firing happening and will i be target as i will be newest employee. tc-180k
Probs fine. We're a pretty stable company.
Yes, it is a good time to join. People look for credit guidance, cards, loans, etc. when recessions hit. There are no plans for layoffs. And, if there were, they would be targeted, not based on seniority.
How big is your TC increase?
Run
Why do you say so ?
Run to credit karma
It's a good time to join. If there is a concern, it'd be the seizing up of credit market since CK makes their money from banks' marketing budget. However, the government will keep lubricating those gears to make sure the recovery period will be as short as possible. The acquisition should make it even more stable since Intuit is flush with cash though you can argue we don't want to depend on that yet.
Thanks @Morten. That was really helpful

Chief people officer just sent an ambiguous email about making difficult choices. Stay away!
Can you post the email?
omg. are you suggesting that layoff is coming? would this affect people who accepted offer but haven't joined yet?
