Google - Recruiting processes

Back in December I applied for a generic google position (non technical role) and after a month or so a recruiter emailed me saying "the hiring team was impressed with my skills blah blah and would like to move forward with the next steps for the XYZ position". She introduced another recruiter and I had a call with her. At the end of the screen interview she told me she would follow up with few teams to see where I can fit in (like Sales Operations/Marketing/Finance for different orgs like Nest, Cloud, Fiber). Two/three weeks later I had to follow up with her since I hadn't heard back anything, so she "matched" me with a group and scheduled an interview. In my opinion it was a very quick match just to make the match; I had the interview with the hiring manager and it was clear it wasn't a good fit for either side, so it didn't work out. Then the recruiter called me and said thank you blah blah ... what's the typical process? Is the recruiter trying just to match you with one team? Also, does it make sense to follow up with the recruiter about other position I have found now, or am I "blacklisted"?

been in the same boat but I refused to interview for a role where I didn't find fit.. recruiters are not obligated to reply for any other roles unless you go through a referral
