Is google becoming like ibm.. seems so far behind on every innovation and resting on past laurels.
Yes
Yes
Google is the new IBM and Amazon is the new General Electric. The slow death has begun.
GE stocks are doing well lately
Who’s the new google
This is what I'm wondering.
A really good question 🤔
Lol.. people that don’t know OpenAI is mostly implementing google brains papers publicly think google is behind
So? Nokia had a capacitive touch screen smartphone prototype long before iPhone appeared, and they didn't do shit. You can have all the know-how in the world but it doesn't mean anything unless you know how to execute on it.
I have significant exposure to both in terms of stocks. Should i sell off and do etf.. seems like slow death has began for faang
Buying high and selling low is always the answer
Same here. I’ve had both for almost 20 years so would have a significant tax bill (~34%) here in California.
Yes
Yes - but who cares, they can't reduce the salary they are already paying, and it's hard to find a job which is better paid in Germany
They can fall behind the market, so by 2030 a top engineer could make ~1M in any other top 10 company as an L4-L5 while Google would only be offering 750K. Obviously those number are made up but you get the point. It would still be okay but nothing like it’s golden days.
They can reduce it easily. To $0.
Yes, I think google or any other dying company has not figured out the perfect way to hire the right employees that take the company to next level. Current way of Faang trying to hire is dead wrong - just my opinion.
It's not about hiring the right employees. It's about acquiring the right companies.
If Google is anything like Meta, the leadershit are far more to blame that whatever ICs they hire.
