If you’re an ex Amazonian and now interviewing with Google, how do you answer the question “why Google”? Honestly for majority of my time I did love AWS. But then one gets asked “why leave”? Things to come to my mind are culture being a better fit and prestige. Don’t think I can talk about prestige as a reason though 😕
> Things to come to my mind are culture being a better fit That’s perfect
So much cringe
For change ? Been here for last x years and felt like I want grow and learn other products and team culture … blah blah
Buddy Google and growth do not go together , aws is more growth oriented
Lol, never presume in the industry. Every company has all kinds of work. There is a reason every multinational companies thrived in this industry.
I got once hope people cut out bullshit , what do interviewer hope to listen with this
Amen bro.
I have taken my fair share of leadership principles. Now it's time to learn some Googleyness and eventually GRAD.
Why ____? are really just softball questions. Say you’ve heard amazing things about the culture, the friends you had there have grown a lot professionally and you admire that, and you really want to make an impact to one of the most influential companies in the world. It’s a really easy question, just sound enthusiastic and driven.
It was an easier question for me when i was a new grad. I said something along the lines of working with talented people and being in an environment surrounded with innovation, and google has those.
$
Great growth potential on GCP (as their revenue is such a small portion in the cloud market).
Small portion of cloud market != growth potential
