Google Bangalore: Projects, Promotions, & Compensation?

Oct 9, 2019 16 Comments

I see too many job openings for Google India especially Bangalore region, however, there seem to be *very few* interesting teams/products that are being worked on there, considering Bangalore to be the silicon valley of India.

Google Bangalore has the following teams: Google Home & Nest, Search, GPay, and few others. Even if people choose to go there, they might not end up working on anything that intriguing.

What I'm unable able to understand is people's dream of working in a company like that? Where there might not be anything challenging to do?

Is google paying that well or am I missing something here?

Also, can anyone from the Bangalore team please validate this judgement?

Google doesn't pay top of the band . The reason most people go there is for the brand and possiblities to move to USA

Yes. Already left msft. You can ask the recruiter about the level fo which they are considering you.
There is no design round for l4.

I was lucky to be part of team which was building a product from scratch, and had a great manager.

I'm assuming one needs to have competing offers in order to squeeze more compensation from Google.

Even then, I see many cases were Google still low-ball the offer.

Did you know anything about the team or product you were going to be part of or was that never discussed?

Also, are you an M.S grad?

Everyone goes through team matching after approval from hc. From my experience it was different from any other company I had interviewed ( where hiring is for specific team ). You can reject a team if you don't like it. Recruiter will set up a team fit call with a different team.

      I am an undergrad.
