Google Cloud Culture
Hello fellow blinders, I work at Google cloud. I have been there for a number of years and have witnessed a change in culture. Things have taken a negative turn as the business tries to be as cut-throat as it possibly can be to show results. Workplace harassment and insult has become largely acceptable as long as there is good revenue at the end of it. Management is all new and most don’t even know what Google culture was or should be. I am considering my options. Quitting seems a cowardly way out. Another option would be to secretly record evidence and go to media perhaps? What would you do? P.S. if you are working at GCP, can you please share your experience as well?

Just leave. GCP was doomed the moment it hired that suited clown TK from Oracle.
Have worked very hard to leave it all without a fight! Culture is made of people. If we don’t fight for it then who will? I hear you about job prospects later, but there are options to mask and force an investigation
Worked at gcp and it was very chill. Everyone is friendly and deadlines are reasonable

Its both internal and external. I worked there 2020
Dont go to media. Go to higher managers and HR who knows the Google culture

A senior employee who was fired from my company ( in very confidential way) for sexual harassment is now working at google cloud. Not surprised by your situation. Sorry i don't have answer for your question but thought worth to mention. Not sure what I do with what I know.

Go work for amazon to get perspective. Then go back and evaluate.
Go somewhere else. The battle upwards to prove and change anything is not worth it and not easy. Why bother and waste your time when there are other options out there. Spend the time to invest in yourself, grow and find a place that fits you.
Internal transfer from GCP to Google open roles is a tough one, as it needs a loop with hiring bar set higher but this is probably the best way to escape GCP now that it has drunk the koolaid which the ex Amazon / AWS managers poisoned it with. Next best is to cash in the brand name for serious TC elsewhere.
What are you talking about? The hiring bar and Hiring Committee approval is company wide, not org specific. Matching to product area comes later after you already were approved by HC.
