Google Cloud Platform or Netflix
I'm expecting offers from both Google Cloud and Netflix as a senior SWE coming from AWS as senior SDE. If both offers are comparable, which is a better option for the following areas: - career, TC growth - WLB - flexibility - workplace culture The Netflix offer would be remote since I'm in WA and Google's office is about 20 minutes from my home. TC: 350k, YOE: 15

Cloud is not necessarily no WLB, idk why people keep spreading this meme. Certain orgs within Cloud are pretty good
Same deal with AWS. It’s just that the odds you end up on a team with bad WLB are higher when you work on a big cloud provider. AWS notoriously worse for good reason
what kind of orgs are good? I've been looking into embedded/fw/networking teams but have yet to hear many good things about them
Google will low ball you. It won’t be comparable imo. They will front load and account refresher into your future TC.

Good question. I interviewed for a staff opening and haven't heard anything about being down-leveled. I guess when I said senior, I meant it more in the general sense of senior staff 😁
