Google E5 to Airbnb E6

How hard is this jump? What would I need to show to make it? I’m ML Eng but have backend, data eng, and data science experience. I was at E6 level before joining G but got downleveled. yoe: 12 yrs TC: 420k

Just because of your TC expectations which I would assume be atleast 20-30% more than what you currently make , You would most likely fit as L6 or higher end of L5.

It’s mostly about your scope, and your experience/system design interviews. You also need to apply to something that happens to need your expertise at an L6 level. Data infrastructure might be an option.

There is almost no projects in Airbnb that needs L6+ ML eng, find another company where the leadership values ML.

What do they value? Design and front end? How about people who can do multiple things, including ML?
