How does Google grant equity when you start there? For example I’m given 500k over 4 years, do they determine the number of shares for each vesting date when I get started? If so how do they determine the share price? #google
Every company is the same. You're given a dollar number in the contract. It gets converted to shares when you're given your grant. That's a few days or weeks or months later. And then you get shares every month or quarter or a year depending on policy. Nearly every company that gives out RSUs, and maybe even private equity options, does it the same way. :'(
Vesting schedule at Google is a bit weird though so OP should take note of that. IIRC it’s 33% in the first year
Thanks to both
Ask the hr or just read the document…or you just can’t find it on stack overflow?
Did they mention refreshers though? Or did you ask the recruiter?
