There were instances where phone screen was not conducted & candidates were directly invited on-site (even without offers). What is Google and Facebook policy on phone screen? How do you determine if phone screen is required or not?
Phone screen is required, its a step with over 70% reject rate.
with phone screen company dont need to waste a whole day and 5 different people on a candidate
If you have enough experience or you work for another FAANG equivalent and demand for the type of work you do is high, then FB/G might expedite the interviewing process by skipping the phone interview and go straight to on-site.
Is Microsoft hiring new grads? Is 250 leetcode enough? I plan on completing 300 before interviewing
I don’t know, I got the fk out of there and now at G.
I had my G screen skipped
Any idea how they make this decision? One of my friend working at Macys.com got it skipped so wondering what are the factors they consider for this?
Read my response above
Google is more willing to skip PS, while FB is not. No matter what, from my experience.
New information. Good to know. What's happening at Amazon? My friends got in without on-site for new grad. They got 2 coding assignments and depending on performance only 1 or 3 Skype rounds. Why so much generosity, hiring goals are high?
No idea tbh.
Amazon is always experimenting, even with recruiting, so don't be surprised if you hear odd recruiting stories. And don't take them as predictive of your experience. The idea is that the company takes a risk to try a new approach and can manage out any mistakes in hiring.
