Google HC Downlevel
Got approved for L4, I was targetting L5 based on my YOE (5yr at Apple, 10 total) Recruiter wants me to give 2 more interviews and then try HC again for L5. What are the chances of sucess ? If I dont get L5 in the second attempt, does the L4 still stand or gets rescinded ? anyone who has gone thru this, please share ur experience TC : 210k

10 YOE with 210k TC? Yes, L4 sounds about right.

Yes, happens all the time. Ask what you need to focus on and make sure to hit it in follow on interviews. Historically they’re system design and either another coding or behavioral round depending on what you’re missing. Worst case they just reinforce your performance at L4 and give you better negotiation standing.
In my case, explicitly asked for L6 interviews. Also had a follow up round (with strong leadership feedback) but was down leveled anyway to L5 (15+ YOE). Rejected offer.
What happened finally OP?
Regardless of whether it gets rescinded or not you should go for it. You’ll be on the same level as kids that got out of college 2 years ago.
