Google HC, On-Site

Hi guys, I recently went through the interview process at Google and currently waiting for results. I know Google is slow in hiring and I am trying to take my mind off it, but few things are bugging me from quite a while and I would really appreciate if some of you who know in's and out's of the process can help me with my doubts. I received a call from recruiter in late Nov 2020 for a Web Solutions Engineer role. Although this wasn't the position I targeted for but I went ahead with it (as currently I am at a very low compensation) and cleared the phone screen by second week of Dec. After that my onsite interviews were scheduled in early Jan 2021. I had 3 virtual onsite interviews, 2 of which went well and by well I mean I came up with optimal solutions explained my approach and thought process really well and made no mistakes in my code as well as answered all the follow-ups. The 3rd interview didn't went well, here I struggled in the warm up question itself and could only code the brute-force for some reason, however the weird thing is I came up with optimal solution to the main question with just 1 hint in no time but didn't had time to code. I was expecting a rejection mainly because of this last round but after 3 days recruiter called me and said the overall feedback is solid however before she could send the packet to HC I need to give one more interview. I felt a bit relieved that I still have some chance and the last interview was scheduled after 1 week. Coming to the final interview, I would say I knocked this one out of the park, I mean I too was impressed by my performance. The interview started with introductions from both sides and took roughly 10 mins, in the next 25 mins I solved and coded 2 medium problems with optimal solutions although the interviewer intended to ask just one. He said that he is not allowed to ask more than 2 problems in an interview and so for the last 10 mins we just chatted about his team and role at Google. It's more than 1 week now and I haven't heard back from my recruiter. What are my chances of getting an offer at this point. Will that one bad interview ruin my chances? I would like to add that all my interviewers were senior people with around 7-10 years of experience. Also, when I am likely to hear back? Thanks #google #tech

Sound promising to me, when you are borderline, that additional interview is common practice. In that addition interview normally you need to nail it. From what you said you seem to nail it

No news is good news. You’re not getting an answer because the recruiter is hunting down the interviewers, not because you are DOA. If you honestly feel like you did as well as the first 2, then just wait and be patient. I also fretted like crazy while waiting to hear back from the recruiter, but at Google the recruiter is your advocate and friend. They’re not going to screw you.
