Google IC vs mid-tier company engineering manager - similar TC, similar commute - which to choose?
Already at Netflix for 8 years. How easy is it to come back to FANG as a manager?

It depends if you want power and want to be the big dog around, or just another fish in the sea doing puddy work taking orders from mid 20 year olds
Yep, it's kind of refreshing to join smaller company after a few years in FAANG, and suddenly be the shit, instead of some average dude.
A manager at a mid tier company can grow much faster than an IC at Google. If you are good, with a bit of luck you will probably end up making more money. My ex-manager went from IC to CTO in about 10 years at a mid size co. (<1000 people).
I am sure the money is as good if not better than a Google principal. (Which is already difficult to reach in 10 years.)
Choose G. Unless the midtier company is growing quickly and you see a path to higher level. Btw are you holding nflx options? What’s your outlook for the next couple years?
The answer is always FAANG. I've never seen a poll on blind where FAANG didn't win.
