That was my biggest disappointment with Google. “Don’t be evil” was really differentiating factor. But not anymore
So disappointing to see. I wonder if this kind of culture ca ever come back.

They referenced in their letter that they wanted to see progress on ideas in 1-2 years and tried to think in 5 year blocks. Letting that self-accountability slip away is a big factor - more than anything inherently wrong in keeping a longer-term view vs the usual quarterly dance.
Sad to see all tech unicorns slowly turning into mediocre mega corps
