Google India PM interview. Fit call before hiring committee??
Just got a mail from google recruiter that my profile is being sent to Hiring Manager for a fit call. On enquiring further, the recruiter called out that fit call happens before hiring committee decision. Also, recruiter reached out 1 month after on-site interview after multiple follow-ups. I thought hiring committee needs to approve before fit calls? Has the hiring process changed recently? What to expect on these fit calls? TC ~72LPA YoE: 9
The team match happened before hiring committee for me as well (TPM role). If a team is ready to take you on, it makes your packet strong. Generally these calls are about HM explaining what their team does. It gives you an opportunity to see fitment from your perspective as well. There will be multiple team match calls with different teams. You can decide what is best for you. Of course, the HM should also like your profile and skills.
Thanks @OgbQ56. Makes sense. How much time did it take to get the calls with the Hiring manager arranged? Do you get to talk to multiple Hiring Managers?
Time depends on HM availability- especially with holidays now, the process will be slow. Recruiter will line up multiple teams based on openings available. I gave my preference in terms of ranking based on the list provided by recruiter. Recruiter will schedule call with the appropriate HM.
