Hello Fam, I got a team match with a team with C++ as a primary language, I know C++, but I'm more inclined towards Java/Node + Rest. Should I go ahead with this team? Or ask recruiter to look for other teams? Please help TC: 15L Yoe: 1 #google
What team are you currently matched with? If you can tell
DM?
I would say be transparent with the recruiter. Tell them you did like the team but you prefer teams with other tech stack. If they have options, they will let you know, if not, you can go ahead with the current one. Internally team switch requires you to spend atleast an year with your current team, so better choose the best before joining.
Hey Thanks, Does Google India have good teams on working on Java? Looks like most of them are using C++
Also don't fall for hrs words like hiring manager already has people in queue and you might lose this offer. They are only interested in closing the deal asap They don't shitting care about team match. Do take your time. I met 5 teams over 2 months to finally match with a team. Hr gave me a lot of bullshit around this time
Stop getting hung up on litte things like programming language. Is the work interesting for the team you matched with? If so, go for it.
I think @OP's preference is API Development role vs Distributed Systems.
Had my team matching recently. I'm also from an API Development (node/python) experience. But decided to go with Distributed Systems (C++) role. I think its going to be hard for you to find an API Development role in India because most of the openings currently are for GCP. If you are fine with waiting couple of months for proper team match then you can wait.
TC break up of offer from Google?
No offer yet
Did you clear the HC round?
