I recently completed the interview process with Google (in GCP space) for a position based out of Bangalore. The process started in June and the interviews got completed in October. I got to know I got positive feedback in 5 out of 6 interviews (SH/ LH/ H) and 1 negative. The recruiter shared this feedback with me as she was working on collecting feedback on my interviews. Fast forward to Dec, I got know there are no headcounts available (as the position I was being interviewed for got filled internally. We’ll look for something in January). From Jun to Oct I was interviewed for a position that got filled internally is very disappointing. Now about the negative feedback that I received, another instance that was very disappointing as I was not given the opportunity to answer the questions asked. The interviewer was late to join and seemed rushed. To top it all, what was not asked to me, was mentioned in my feedback. I’m not sure what really happened there. I’d like to know from the community, what are my chances that I would be reached out again and might get my package approved by the HC? Should I be hoping any positive outcome at all or a SNH means the end of the road? TC - 25 lac INR Exp - 9 years
Why did it take so long? Did you decide on the schedule or was it delayed from their side?
There was a month’s gap between phone screening and virtual interviews to find the panel. Then a couple of weeks from my end to be better prepared and rest of the time based on the panel availability, collecting feedback, etc.
Same story, have been at the process since almost 5 months now. Have received multiple offers in the midst and joined also. G process sucks
Have you applied for a SWE position?
Exactly! Are all your interviews done?
Can anyone answer my original question? :)
Nobody can tell you about this with surety. SNH holds a lot of leverage but it depends on what exactly the interviewer pointed out as the reasons. Since you don't have a specific position to fill right now, your best chance is that a hiring manager looks at your packet and wants to back you up in front of HC with a support statement.
I realized it later that I’ve put SNH in my post. I’m not sure if it was just NH or SNH but I see your point. Thanks for sharing your views.
Unless this is for a specialist position, I think L5s are still getting team matched.
Why 6 interviews though ... Doesn't sound like standard swe.
Yes, I was also being interviewed for a specific position but it never reached to the point to have a fitment call.
