Hi Google Folks, I have Embedded Software Interview coming up. The position is in very relevant domain and technology on which I work in Qualcomm. The recuiter mentioned that [on further clarification] the phone interview would consist of C++ coding[ I asked for python, but team was adamant on C++, which is little weird because Google’s interview is meant to be language independent] and questions on my domain. Kindly, let me know how should I prepare or go about it. I can give more informatin through DM, if any one of you all with this experience[embedded] can help me with. YoE: 1.5 years LC: 275 TC:- $135 k #software #engineering [Update on my on-site interview] Hi All, Sorry for the delay in my response. My experience is Google embedded software engineer is Exactly similar to generalist SWE. My choice of language was:-C++. They asked me one question on BFS. Other question on Recursion with memoization. None of the questions were in Leetcode. But you can say it was similar type. Best of luck guyz
What embedded sw are you writing in python?
I wanted to select python as a choice of coding language for algorithmic questions.
OP, how did it go? What did they ask you?

Had Verily interview recently for embedded position. On first screen (which I bumped) they asked DFS medium problem. Except Apple, all embedded positions at FANG will ask you dfs, bfs; that is my experience

As long as you know basic C++ and solve interview questions with that, it should be fine. For domain knowledge, questions will mostly depend on what specific experience you have.
I don’t think “basic C++” is the right word. They can ask very dirty bit manipulation question even worse then what is there on LC.
Yes, but asking difficult questions shouldn't be an issue. They can ask that in python as well. So I don't see how it is different if you are having sufficient C++ knowledge to solve the same questions that you would have in python. Now it would have been a different scenario, if they were asking for lamba, template, tricks of classes, some obscure new feature etc.. I really doubt Google will do that.
