Should I marry a lazy girl?
I recently applied for a job at Google. The job is essentially the same as the one I am currently in, though a more junior title. It was a pretty niche job which I have direct and specific experience in, which I listed in my resume. But I was automatically rejected in 48 hours. What gives? Iām so disappointed.
They reject almost everyone immediately these days
You still have a lot to see. Welcome to earth, man!
I got through, but rejected in the process, was my fault. Use something like jobs jobscan to ensure u have all the keywords. Make sure it's formatted for ats. In professional summary, provide a really clear paragraph about exact experience that matches role. They have people who just look at resumes all day, do the work for them.
My first Google application was for a linguist internship. The position was seeking undergrad or graduate students, but grads were preferred, especially if they had a computational background. I was a grad student in computational linguistics at UW, so I thought I had an okay chance of at least making it beyond the resume screen having some of the preferred qualifications. The hiring manager also happened to be a USC alumna (my undergrad school). I applied at 2pm and I was rejected the next morning š I have never made it beyond the resume screen. I recently tried for an apprenticeship and was rejected about 3 months after it had already started. I have no luck with them. Oddly enough, the customer for my current Remotasks project is Google and I sadly think this is as close as I'll ever get.
Nope.
Welcome to the family, son.
