I have an offer from Google Bangalore. I initially had plans for moving to Seattle at Amazon but now this is confusing me. How long will I need to wait at Google before I can move on L1 to the US? Does Google send people on L1 as soon as a year is complete? Or is it difficult to do so? TC: 44 LPA YOE: 4.5 Offer: Negotiating for 60+ LPA, let's see
Did you have team match before or after HC ? Asking because I am also in the loop.
Bump !
Exact same position op ... gonna give up a position in FB London provided Google gives out L1s. Did you find out anything about that policy ?
If your team is ready and you are the right candidate, I don't see a reason why they would not start the process at the end of 1 year
So there's a process involved and it needs to be within the team? At Amazon, I just need to interview for ANY of the open positions available in the USA.
That's what I believe is the case with all companies. People can apply to any positions anywhere in the world. But it may take longer than a year to find a team. You can negotiate with the hiring team to avoid any delay.
You have to stay at Google for 1 year before that can start the process. That’s the role for L1 in all companies.
Is that true for Amazon as well for SDE-2?
Thanks for replying. I understand the US visa law. I was trying to understand Google's policy here. Do they send people on L1 in a year?
