Remember folks, all Israel wants is the hostages back
I got approved by Google hiring committee last month, and a couple days later was told there are no open positions. So now I'm waiting for a phone call when something opens up, as the approval by hiring committee is good for a year. When an opening presents itself, I should be joining either the LA office or the Irvine office. The data from levels.fyi is somewhat lacking (5 data points combined). I'm wondering what kind of compensation I can expect without competing offers. Thanks! Obligatory: 3 YOE 120k TC
Google will for sure lowball you unless you can get a fb/nflx offer.
in the same position. Recruiter told me to interview at other companies since they cant guarantee placement
Can you ask for a different office?
It's for L3... Not all teams want to use their headcount for an L3 hire
L3 for LA or Irvine might take longer than you would think... I would go interview at other places too.
That’s crazy. Was talking to a recruiter about this a couple of months back and it seemed like that they had more head count. I wonder what changed?!
How much did they end up offering you?
I'm amazed that a company can get away with putting so many people on the bench like this, just because of their previous reputation. Whatever the offer is, it will be low-ball because they can get away with it based on perceived prestige. You should keep interviewing and get competing offers on the chance that something opens up within the year. If it was me, I'd take another offer at a company that shows a little more respect.
