Just cleared L3 HC for Google. Currently in team matching stage. How much should I ask as TC for the following cities: 1. NYC 2. Bay area 3. LA No competing offers. Current TC: 155k (L4 Amazon) YOE: ~2 #software #engineering #swe #sre #google #sde

Regardless, put all your negotiating power into stock. Better to start with an ok base and great initial grant than to have a high base and shitty initial grant since base is increased yearly

At 2yoe im sure you were close to promo. Im also in the same boat. My manager keeps delaying my promo. Im debating if I should leave now or wait till promo:
150k base, 180k RSUs, 30k sign on would be ideal
I’ve seen people getting more than $200k RSUs as L3 with L4 competing offers elsewhere

Without competing offers I got first year TC of ~$205k Salary: $128k Equity: $174k (33/33/22/12) Bonus: %15 (~$19k) I know someone who had competing offers and got a first year TC of ~$222k. I don't remember the specific breakdown. Both of these are Seattle.
