Google L4 New York Offer
I matched with a team from YouTube and the recruiter asked me for my compensation expectation. I have no experience with this. What should I ask for? I unfortunately don’t have any other offers. YoE: 1.5 TC: 95k
Go on levels FYI, look at L4 NYC New Offers, and filter to 1-2 YOE. Take the highest offer reported, bump it by 10%. Highest I see is $305K so yolo ask for $330K. Don’t give such a wide range. Or just wait for them to give an offer first (don’t give a number). Also how did you get L4 with 1.5 YOE? Did you have a Masters?

That’s whack. I got L3 despite doing a 3D DP problem iteratively bottom up finishing it in 30 minutes. No follow up questions. Got a “you did a great job” twice. Did 4 coding rounds, 1 behavioral. Then did an additional 2 coding rounds. Still got L3 😂
How was your interview? Any lc question?
I got a 2D DP and two graph traversal problems. They were custom and weren’t on leetcode. I thought I did average. I didn’t get anywhere close on the DP question

Hey OP, congratulations on the offer! Just curious, by "didn't get anywhere close", do you mean that you weren't able to come up with a brute-force solution for the 2D DP q? Makes sense though. 2D DP is pretty brutal to get on an interview.
Yeah pretty much. I had a half finished solution by the end of it.
