Hi, got an offer from Google for L6 Hardware Engineering Team Lead position in the Bay Area. Here’s the breakdown: Base: 235K Bonus: 20% (47K) RSU: 810K (33/33/22/12) Sign on bonus: 50K Y1 comp: 600K Y2 comp: 550K Please evaluate this offer. RSU seem low, but may be sign of the times? Current TC: 340K YOE: 20 #tech #offer #l6 #hwe
Great offer for Google
It’s not the absolute best but a solid offer in the current market. It is also almost double your TC. I’d take that if I were you.
This is a good offer for hardware. I just started as a L5 with hardware Base 200. Bonus 15% RSUs 500k Sign on 20k. This is in Bay Area. Your offer is inline with what levels.fyi has for L6.
What is your yoe

You’re nearly doubling your TC but worried that RSUs are low?
Have a higher competing offer but with less desirable company
Not relevant. You’re nearly doubling your TC. You have one additional data point from another less desirable company willing to give more RSUs. This is the market in action calibrating to tell you what your labor is worth. If you have 3 or more offers from FAANG/equivalent and Google’s RSUs are substantially lower than all the rest, then it’s evidence that your RSUs are low in the G offer. At the moment Google is hitting you with a money hose that’s dramatically more than you’re currently making.

How come you got 20% bonus?
That's the target for L6.
Yes, L5 is 15% and L6 is 20%
Is this with GCP?
Awesome offer. I wonder why google is still hiring though!
I received my Google offer this week. L6 EM for Bay Area. Base 250k Bonus 20% RSUs 1.3M Sign on 50k I think it comes down to years of leadership exp. I was put on the max end due to 8 years of management exp, including 4 years managing managers.
Are you SWE? Cuz hardware gets paid less than SWE
Ah didn’t know that, yes I am
Wow its a bomb offer
