Seeing a bunch of entries in the WARN database for Google effective 3/31. Are these new or just delayed from the last lay off?
WARN is a lagging indicator for companies that pay severance
Does this mean WARN isn't a good indicator?
It means that by the time you see it on WARN for companies that pay severance, they already announced layoffs publicly probably 60 days ago.
It’s the 1/20 layoffs.
What does that mean?
This warn notice is from the Jan 20 layoffs. Not a new one.
OP Where can I see that warn db? Is it public ?
Are you stupid?
Be nice Douglas
Sir, are you stupid?
Hi it's me Sundar, yes we're gonna lay off more of my slaves-uh, I meant Googlers. Hehehe TC $99M
When are you going to start hiring slaves again? 😅
Sundar bsdk
Which state bro?
Warn indicates 60 days from notification of layoff to the employee being completely out of the company system
It's one in the same. Bear in mind that the timeline are different by county. Some folks in EMEA were notified this week that they were impacted, this will continue for months yet.
That makes no sense. The correct answer is these are the layoffs from January.
If he had time to casually scroll blind
Kind of racist my guy
Yea 3/31 is when most of the 1/20 layoffs are taken off payroll
does this overlap w/ severance or does severance not start till after 3/31?
Severance starts 3/31. Laid off employees are still technically employed through tomorrow due to the 60 day (CA) or through 4/28 (NYC) notices
