Google MV hardware offer expectations
What is the expected level / salary range for a hardware engineer in Google@Mountain View. Currently have 8yrs of experience and a Staff Engineer level.
The recruiter said the position is slated for level with 250k max salary. They are definitely down leveling my guess is level 4. I have another offer at 310k so I hope they can match
AFAIK the level is decided by hiring committee and not the manager beforehand.... Correct?

How do you know so much about Google pay/levels?
250 max is L5 ? I thought it was 250-350 range. Maybe you are saying they are low balling by giving minimum of L5 pay

Yes. 240k TC 😣 They won't match equity of startup just base

What if I have 14YOE and company is a Google bet? Is the 250-350 range for hw or sw ?
