I was driving from 714 65th St, Brooklyn, NY 11220 to somewhere in downtown Brooklyn around 21 Flushing Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11205 and Google Maps took me round to the Brooklyn bridge, to downtown Manhattan then back to Brooklyn bridge to my destination in downtown Brooklyn. I was also an idiot not paying attention till I was already on the bridge & couldn't turn back. Who the fuck writes software like this that tries to optimize a stupid route that makes no fucking sense. This is not the first time this has happened, the last time I had to change the route up to 3 times because it was auto-suggesting & routing to a place that makes no sense. Can someone please suggest a better alternative, because I'm tired of this stupid shitty app. This is annoying because I lost up to 1 hour in traffic and I need to get this off my chest. Is this what it's like to have engineers who can solve leet-code hard but don't know how to write software? End of my rant. Thanks for listening. YOE: 7 TC: 355K
Google map is also directing people off the cliff, and getting sued for it
It’s a Jeep thing. You won’t understand.
100% agree. It’s become almost unusable. I use to love Google Maps but now can’t stand it. Apple had an awful maps app but I think it’s now surpassed Google’s.
What are the advantages? I tried it last year and didn’t see anything that make me switch..
Agreed, it's so much worse than 6-7 years ago.
Apple Maps is better now . Also waze
Apple Maps has become way better than the rest recently. The Google maps engineers seem to be resting and vesting.
This is literally likely the case
I deleted google maps. Apple maps only
What are the advantages? I tried it last year and didn’t see anything that make me switch..
Path finding is not easy, but Google will accept a lack of information to mean no traffic and suggest routes that are silly. I always plan my routes ahead myself and rarely accept traffic updates without knowing it’s a viable alternative.
Lol applying to work on Apple Maps now
Why are you driving in Brooklyn?
Apple maps. seriously.
