How many of you in EB-2 India category think of going back to school for PhD and getting a bunch of publications?
I know of someone who might get a PIP. He got MI in 2022 as a Noogler. Then his project shut down mid-year and he's been trying to move teams ever since but couldn't due to low internal mobility. Team is shitty, very political, lot of attrition. He did some PEP which seems to have gone well as per peer feedback. His manager still threatens to PIP him with a formal warning. Is this personal? ...Such things are happening at Google? Can he still move teams while doing PIP or should he just leave with a payout or something else?
Google hired many Amazon managers. What better can you expect from these managers.

Once you get pipped, you should just take the payout. Speaking from experience, no matter if you do well, they can always move the goal post and if it’s a shitty team, that will most likely happen.
Yep. If you tried and you didn't pass PEP, don't plan on PIP being any kinder. PEP is PIP light and most managers don't want to say that they were wrong about a person and reverse a judgement... Or someone else is pressuring them.
Sigh, really sorry you're going through this, OP I would start leetcoding and external interviews at this stage
You, I mean he, likely can’t move while on a PIP or even when there’s a risk of PIP. And especially now with all the layoffs and so many qualified folks also applying. Sorry.
