As a former Dev and very technical PM (Program Manager), what is the corresponding position at Google? Is a Product Manager position a better fit than a TPM? How do the interviews (and their rigor) differ?
TPM is a project management role at Google. A Product Manager is what you'd be looking for. You will have 2 coding interviews as opposed to one for TPM. PMs drive product at Google. TPMs manage deadlines, risks and scope projects with Engineers.
Really 2 coding for PM?
BS. I've interviewed for PM and there are no coding interviews. There's one "technical" interview where you talk about architecture design. But no coding.
How easy is it to move to PM after joining TPM at Google? Do they still need coding interviews for internal transfers?

I am starting to think Chinese interviewers currently fail non-Chinese candidates on purpose.
Likely you want the TPM role which focuses more on technical execution. PM is more business focused, from product inception, risk analyses to go live and such Edit: what level are you and what team?
This sort of deviates from what Google suggests in the post below. It may well be that most PMs at Microsoft end up as TPMs elsewhere. However I'm trying to gauge the appropriate positioning and leveling of a technical PM from Microsoft at other similar companies. Even from LinkedIn profiles, Product Manager seems like the corresponding position.
