Google Re-interview

Interviewed at Google for swe role late October last year. Feedback wasn't solid so recruiter put me through team matching before sending packet to hiring committee. Got matched with four teams but didn't make it past hc. Recruiter ended the conversation with the usual "hope to work with you in a year" message. I'm hoping to reinterview this year so I was wondering if I should reach back out to my recruiter right now to check if there's headcount? Given that I'd prefer to interview in Oct/Nov and would need 2-3 months of prep, I'd like to at least get confirmation that I'll get to re-interview before starting the grind. Also, is it possible to get L4 with 2-2.5 YOE?

Why leaving FB? Btw your recruiter might have left Google already, checking doesnā€™t hurt

Makes sense. Reason Iā€™m asking is Im wondering if the ā€œprocessā€ can start before the one year cooling period ends... can recruiters schedule an on-site that happens after cooling period before the cooling period ends Was hoping to get recruiter insights on this

From my personal experience they can

It's possible to get L4 with 2 yoe, but unlikely. Why are you leaving FB? E4/E5 will happen much faster then at Google.

I joined fb less than a year ago. May need another year before I could be considered for e4? If I could get L4 at G end of this year then itā€™s faster (not sure about l4-l5 though). Plus, from what Iā€™ve heard Gā€™s culture is more chilled (less impacc focused)

L5 at google is much harder. You have a moloch higher chance of getting FB e4 in the next year then getting L4 from Google next year. Google much more rest and vest culture though, I agree.

Does this imply that if the recruiter goes straight to HC, then the feedback is pretty solid?
