Hi All, I had an onsite interview with Google almost 4 weeks ago. Since then I tried to reach out to my recruiter but no response. Should I assume I got rejected? As far as my onsite interview's experience: I messed up the last interview out of 5, where the interviewer was just not ready to explain me with the understanding of my coding problem. He seemed super disinterested and didn't care about what I am doing on board. When I tried explaining my solution he suggested me to finish it my self and he will look after. Anyways yesterday I tried sending another email with "Urgent!!" in mail Subject and no response what so ever. Is it so hard to just say you are not selected and send an email. I have never had any experience like this before.
Spooky 👻
They will definitely give you some update. But if the last interviewer was so disinterested then he can give a feedback like ‘strong reject’ which can lead to rejection irrespective of other interviewers’ feedback. All the best!
Most likely the case. Otherwise I would expect something.
Clear case of reject. Recruiters are notorious for ghosting in negative case. I think you should just move and not look desperate by sending "Urgent" emails. I understand this is easier said than done.
Thanks for the comment. I am trying to not think about it. The only reason I sent urgent email as I have another offer and I need to make a decision sometime this week :(
Sad to hear this. Ghosting should never happen.
Similar experience... I'd say don't expect a positive result . Best case scenario they think you *could* be a good fit but they are double checking by interviewing others Had the known you're the best candidate, you would have heard back by now
Finally, herd back from recruiter. Due to mixed reviews (Some very strong and some negative) HC decided not to move forward.
Many people get rejected then pass later, rejections happen, hopefully you get in (or a place you prefer more) in future. Good luck opie.
This was my experience in Google India in Mar'20 This was a managerial( non-engg) role - I passed all 4 onsite interviews, cleared HC as well. The recruiter took my pay details, asked me for referrals for background check etc in Mar'20 last week. Everything was fine till then - active mail exchanges etc. In Apr week 4 she again mailed saying I know things are taking more time than usual but thanks to Covid etc, lack of clarity, I was not able to come back sooner. No flags and all feedback positive is what she told. Starting May 1st till now - I have been bumping emails, WhatsApp messages, calls etc but of no use - she's just ghosted and disappeared. I can understand many things could have changed - I asked my husband who works in Google to check with the recruiter and see if she's still in the company etc - the moment my husband pinged and told her that he's checking on my candidature, she said she will call me back - till date that has never happened! Just wondering is this how Google recruiters treat prospective employees ?!
