Hello there i just passed Hiring committee and got my offer. Base 128k commission 42.86% Equity 210k YOE 5 Location Arizona Utah The base is definetely lower then i thought it would be. I appreciate anyone thoughts on this I would take a pay cut in base from my current job ,but commission would be higher so it will be lateral move. Thx #tech #gcp #google #compensation #salary
What the OTE? Offer seems good. I heard everyone is crushing their numbers in GCP as it’s growing rapidly. Btw, can I DM you for some interview tips? I am applying for a CE role too.
Ote is above
Google has been cheaping out on offers lately or modifying comp post hire, it's that oracle influence
Did you talk to hiring manager before hiring committee? Is hiring committee still a thing? How long did it take to get offer after last interview?
I had team fit interview before HC
Did you do system design and presentation? I believe you can confirm the level from the recruiter
No more presentation in RRK , system design yes.
Did you ask the recruiter for the level? I know people that did presentation this year, though. They split their loop into 2 stages: First - GCA and RRK (after they passed these 2, that was when they pushed them to the next round) Second - L & G, Presentation She was given a L5
This is a decent offer actually. Negotiated similarly.
Thank you!

Got a new link? I’m just starting the interviewing for this in the Midwest
I'd also like a new link. Would like to stay updated on this.
I DMd you OP!!!
Congratulations! Google is an amazing place. I’ve only been an L6 CE there for a few months but it’s been very positive. There is no cut in base salary going on. Sales bonus structure was recently changed a bit but not very consequential. It’s actually more realistic now than the previous structure. I am in NYC and have 20+ YOE so can’t gauge your offer. Given that you’re not in a major market and only have 5 YOE that offer sounds pretty good. I couldn’t even dream of making that type of money with 5 YOE but I know things have changed a lot. The level is a well kept secret. Recruiter kept saying I had to ask my manager after I started. I didn’t find out until I looked in the payroll system. I think they don’t want you to leverage the level during comp negotiations. I used numbers I found on here and added like 20% on top to negotiate and that worked well for me. I got to skip the hiring committee. CE Interview tips not on Google instructions: - Check out McKinsey and BCG case interviews on YouTube - came in very handy for RRK - Do mock interviews with experienced managers - Practice scenario based questions using your own past experience so you’re comfortable answering when they come up across the interviews - Ask thought provoking questions after every interview - Unless you’re already GCP certified, take the GCP core infra 13 hour course on Coursera - came in very handy for RRK. I already had 2 AWS certifications but wasn’t familiar with GCP Good luck! 1st year TC $405k. Stock is already up 27% since I joined so looking good.
I am interviewing for a CE role with GCP and I was hoping to get some interview tips -- anything you wish you knew beforehand while going through the process? Thank you!
L4? Sounds about right
I actually think it is L5, as i did really good on RRK interview but i could be wrong
Sorry meant L5. This is good for LCOL L5
