Can blind community share some insights and resources on what it takes to Crack the Google Staff, Sr Staff engineer? Time to prep: 90-120 days. Been a few years since I spent time on LC. I can at most spend 1-2 hours/ day if at all (day job at Amazon is demanding and so are wife and kids at home) No trolls please. Seeking genuine help. Haven't interviewed in a while. L6 would be a stretch as a recently promoted Amazon 6, and L7 seems out of the question.
I'm likely to find a way to interview. Any tips on preparing would be helpful
Not really a stretch. I’m an SMTS here and I’m getting matched for L6 at G
Lol
You have to nail the behavioral roung. Practise all the Amazon leadership principal questions you have internally
Sure LPs seem ok to me. I'm more concerned about LC and system design if I have the edge there to think on my feet to Crack the question
Don't underestimate that round though, you've to show that level of impact across an org. LC and systems will be standard across L5+ but more expectations for L6 in the systems.
I mean this is one of the best posts on blind ever: Check out this post! "Giving back - how I cleared L6 System Design - Part 1 (Tech Industry)" https://us.teamblind.com/s/4yufM3RY
Looks very promising I sure will check it out! Thank you
System design - https://us.teamblind.com/s/4yufM3RY Coding - https://leetcode.com/list/xi4ci4ig/ Behavioral - Amazon has a high bar here and you should be well prepared so long as you've done enough interview loops. Highly recommend doing lots of mock interviews. As you know, behavioral and system design would be key for you. I've used interviewing dot io previously and I'd recommend them if you can get L6+ (Google leveling) to do these for you. You can definitely aim for senior staff so long as you've the appropriate level of work and can show that in your interviews. Your next company doesn't need to know your current leveling.
Gold!

Are you me? Following 😆
Started EPI.. going through bit manipulation chapter. Gosh. The size of the book scares me
That book is overkill for L6. For the coding parts, all you need is this course and practising tagged questions for the company you want that don't fall into the patterns from the course. https://www.educative.io/courses/grokking-the-coding-interview
This seems like $17 well spent Thanks for recommending
