Hello Fellow Blinders, I am looking to get some insight about Google TSC role. I got an offer from Google for Technical Solutions Consultant role. Want to know what the career prospects? How technical is TSC role? Is this a pure support role? Possibility of internal team transfer (TSC to SWE)? Pay comparison with SWE? My profile - Software Developer - YOE - 7 Yrs - Other Offers - Wayfair, Sr Software Engineer (TC ~200k)
My understanding is that TSC is kinda of a hybrid of support / technical pgm / SWE. Specifics are going to depend a lot on the team. TSC has a lower technical hiring bar than SWE; ladder transfer is possible, but probably not super easy.
Thanks for valuable advice
OP, did you end up accepting the offer? I just applied for a TSC and I was interested to know what the role entails
DM me!
@faangboy! Can I also DM you? Interested in this role. Thanks.
Any updates?
Can you provide some insights on the role and interview process ? How technical is the interview process ?
Just landed here looking for people on the same interview process, to me it was pretty basic just asking 3 general and very superficial web architecture knowledge and the only hands-on question was the following SQL: "Please write a simple SQL to summarize monthly sales for each salesperson across different product from single table. Example schema: Salesperson(salespersonid INT, name STRING) Account(customerid INT, salespersonid INT) Revenue (date DATE, customerid INT, productid INT, revenue INTEGER)" I mean, I believe they're mostly looking for customer-facing experience in a hybrid tech/business environment, basically anyone in tech consulting would fit.
Hey Gmq, Was there any LC questions involved or coding rounds?
Hi can you please provide some tips how the process was ?
Can you share the offer details? Also did they say how much travel you will have to do?
Will let you know by next week. Still waiting on numbers
@blindtechy How was the offer? Any updates?
