Hello friends, I have received a phone call from the recruiter saying that Hiring Committee has approved my profile for L4, I need to match a team at google before extending an offer. I have the following questions. 1) what questions are usually asked in the team matching interviews? 2) Is there any limit on how many team match interviews that I can take? 3) What are the chances of loosing a Google offer because of not passing any team match interview. Thanks in Advance. My tech stack: Angular, React Js, Java, Node js. YOE: 3.5 years plus master's degree. #google
I had 7-8 team match calls over a 6 month period of time. I was looking for the right fit and didn't want to relocate. Recruiter said if match didn't yield offer in 1 year I would have to loop again.
Can you help me with what kind of questions are asked in the team matching interviews generally?
Just a question on this What about the comp? Is it decided only post team matching? Like is it discussed only then?
For me the recruiter told that comp will be discussed after team matching.
May I ask how you prepared? What was the difficulty of the questions asked? Were the problems LC tagged? Thanks!
I have done my preparation mostly from Leetcode. Did 37 easy, 117 medium, 47 hard - total 201. I have picked the topics - DFS, BFS, Trees, Queue, Stack, Linked Lists, String, Arrays, Dynamic Programming and sorted the questions by frequency and solved 20 problems in each category(where I picked 5 from each category initially and pick another 5 from each category after all the categories are exhausted). For revision I have used Anki flash cards.
If you aren't picky team match isn't hard. Some of the teams only have 1 opening and multiple candidates. Those teams feel like an interview. Other teams have multiple openings and almost no candidates. Those teams the HM spends the whole time pitching you about the team and literally asks you 0 questions about your experience/resume. That said in either case it is good to ask questions about the team and appear interested
Thanks sheje, this helps a lot.
Congrats! don't worry. You are not gonna loose an offer.
Thanks Ninja!!
