How many questions in each interview
1 or 2. If first is simple then two. If first is not simple and time permits, followups on the first question
1 question per interview, except the googliness one. 45 minutes each. Practice drawing with Google docs beforehand, and if you have a pen/tablet consider using it (I double dialed in to my design interview to do this)
ive actually bought a tablet but had to return as i couldnt draw w it (cheap 30$ one). which tablet would tou recommend?
You're not allowed to use anything besides a notepad or a whiteboard
How was your phone screenv
For white boarding ask the recruiter to provide a Jamboard link. Practice using Jamboard especially writing text on it. When you do your system design problems, do them on Jamboard to get good at using it.
Uber used jamboard and it sucked. Google used Google docs with draw feature and it was way better. Anyway, ask which product you'll be using and go with that.
Amazon recommends AWWapp.com which works way better than Jamboard. You are right Jamboard does suck π
We use Draw for system design
Can you give an example of a bad virtual interview
Is google hiring ?
Have a few interviews scheduled for next few weeks. So yes
Thank you for the info. Do you know which location and team ?
Can anyone share more information on the technical round? I am a little nervous given I don't have a technical engineering degree. Where would you prepare and does it help to let the interviewer know before they ask the question? I have my virtual onsite in few weeks so planning ahead to prepare for things where I know I can improve a lot.
Elements of programming interviews is my go-to book, farrrr better for prep than CtCI in my opinion. I had a somewhat near miss (self assessment, I did get to HC, but how knows) on my previous interview attempt last year using that book + Leetcode. Iβve got an interview in the near future, and Iβm doing the same prep routine plus some STAR question prep for that googlieness interview they do now.
Amazon - what do you want to know
The biggest tip that people donβt ever want to admit is that your interviewer has to like you.
