Is there anyone here who works at Google YouTube? Is it prestigious team? Just wanted to know the wlb, profitability and projects.

My friend works in YouTube Ads. He likes it a lot there. My other friends at Google also likes their team and other activities (we don't talk about work, so no idea on it :p)
Prestigious? I don't know. I'm not an engineer but in my world (compliance), YouTube is like Google junior. They have a huge product of worldwide importance but... they are just one product so sometimes they don't see or get to see the big picture and they're pretty heavily silo'ed off from us. It's kind of unfortunate. Ymmv since I haven't worked there personally

YouTube is fun. Everyone I work with is very nice and the work is actually interesting(something I didn't expect coming into a big company like Google tbh). Only downside for me is I'm not a big fan of the San Bruno office (YT HQ) but SF, Mountain view, Sunnyvale offices are nearby if you want a change of environment or would like to try new cafes or something. I only know people who work in search and nest and from what I've heard I believe YouTube is better.
