Google HC down leveled me to L4 for a Salesforce Application Engineer role. My recruiter asked me to go through an additional interview to get L5. I was worried if I would lose L4 if I perform badly , but recruiter reassured me that I’ll get at least L4 even if don’t perform well. I had the interview couple of days ago and I felt I did Ok. Recruiter said interview feedback is good enough for L5. Anyone has experience doing additional interview for appealing downlevel? Were you successful? Do I need Strong hire / Hire from this interview? Currently a Senior Manager at Accenture with 14 YOE. Current Base: 167K. Location: Chicago .

No offer yet. HC approved and now team matching. I had 2 coding, 1 system design , 1 system integration, 1 googleyness.

Strong hire is extremely rare. If your recruiter said it’s good enough for L5, probably means you got a hire or lean hire. If former, HC should have no issue with L5. If latter, HC can offer either L4 or L5
Recruiter initially appealed L4 on the basis that I already had good interview feedback. Apparently HC said ok , but needed interview on another topic / design aspect, which was not covered in the initial interviews. How much salary bump can I expect from L4 to L5?
