I will like your help to evaluate two offers - one from Google as Customer engineer and the other from JP Morgan as VP Infrastructure in the Dallas area. Google offer 150k TC JP Morgan 130K TC 6 YOE Current title Software Engineer Master’s in Computer Science
I would go with Google. In the long run employers will be more inclined to make better offers and your market value will go up.
agree if both in Dallas
Google in Dallas. Congrats you’re rich. What does a Customer Engineer do? How is it different from SWE?
Customer engineers are google cloud technical sales engineers. Software background is needed but no where near that of a software engineer role.
vp infrastructure seems way better than customer engineer imo
banks give out vp roles like candy
Negotiate with Google for a better offer and take it.
VP in a bank won’t be worth much. Go with google
VP isn’t jack shit. Don’t do Dallas banking It’s back office af It’s pretty much dead culture with no backing revenue
Google ftw
I know banks have a serious case of title inflation, but is it that bad ? I mean there are new grad offers from non FANG companies which are better than this "VP" offer.
Go with google
go with Dallas and negotiate 20k up
They’re both located in Dallas
