Got verbal offer from recruiter for a L6 manager role in gTech StratOps. Heard gTech isn’t sexy and recruiters typically lowball on first offer but this still feels very off. Location MTV. Base 215 Bonus 20% Stock 200k all-in over 4yrs (this is the big WTF) Sign-on: 15 YoE 11 No competing offers yet. Thoughts? How high could stock go? #tech
This is too low, probably because the org is gTech, a very boring services organization. You should be at roughly $308,000 X 1.20 = $370,000

Just meant to write that it should be 20% higher. Most likely in stock. Take it with a grain of salt because I’ve never received an offer from G but I have friends in gTech, plus G is known to pay more.

1 case and 2 behavioral - asked about team and conflict management and how to influence people without direct authority. Was led by inbound recruiter request so didn’t apply.
While it's low maybe the total comp looks better because of Googles new vesting structure? IIRC it's 33%,33%, 17%,17%. Not sure if that's for non tech too though.

No competing offers. Current TC is $210 but based in a much lower cost of living state. How high can equity go? $500k over 4yrs?
So it's not a low-ball. Not sure how high equity might go. Definitely higher than 200k. I doubt you will be able to negotiate much more without a competing offer though. G knows McK pay structure well so your batna is weak.
How is the negotiation so far? You can ask the recruiter the stock refresh range for this role (which I guess not ver high), to justify a higher initial grant.
