I noticed Google hires lots incompetent folks from Partner ecosystem and in a few cases LEs from Amazon into Sales/Customer Engineers roles. Are they so desperate to compete in Cloud so they hire anyone they find to help with Sales?
They are hiring very very fast, so they'll get more duds and pip then. GBO isn't afraid to fire people
GBO is totally afraid to fire people. Not sure where you got that.
My CE is a former SWE at a competitor. He's very good. Most CEs in my location seem to be top notch.
Whats se? Sale eng? Whats ce
SE = Sales Engineer. CE = Customer Engineer. Same role, just titled differently pre and post bs reorg.
I had interviewed with GCP for a CE position. Wasn't impressed by any of my interviewers, in fact was very pissed by one based in Chicago. I turned down the on site eventually. The whole process was glacial IMO. I was interviewing for a specialist domain. None of my interviewers except 1 had that expertise (PhD + experience). They all seemed to be generic IT folks.
How's the TC for SE/CE?
What’s LE? My CE team is solid. Might depend on the region. AWS’s bar has been low for a while now. Google hasn’t gotten to that point yet.
AWS does recurring layoffs to cut low hangers. Google doesn't. But yeah overall the bar has been lowered....there just isn't anyone left to hire
