Google hiring committee

I interviewed with 2 teams at Google and both were interested in moving forward with me. My recruiter asked me to pick one and he said that he's now going to take my package to the hiring committee. I see other posts about people getting through hiring committee and then being matched to a team. Why is it in reverse for me? Has the process changed? If anyone has any insight into the chances of making it past HC now that I've been matched, please share. PM role.

No. The process hasn't changed. What I feel (again my perspective not official) is that when the feedback is slambang positive, HR would hurry to get it past HC. When it is kind of in the middle but the recruiter feels good about ir, the recruiter generally gets through team match. The manager will suppirt your application and there by help with HC.

OP did you pass the hiring committee?

I had an interview my the team manager before being pushed to the HC. I think process is different if the role is not in engineering.

How does an interviewee know if he/she passes HC??

So do google recruiters explicitly mention that you "got past the hiring committee" or something? I interviewed there and the recruiter said congrats you made it to the team matching portion or whatever but it not sure if he mentioned HR or not. Unfortunately I had to pull out of the process at that point πŸ˜”

Yes - I have been clearly told that my application was going to be discussed by the HC.
