Google iOS engineer bar
I've applied to 4 different L4 iOS engineering positions in the last 2 months and I've gotten rejected from all of them. I have 5 YOE and an L5 iOS SDE at Amazon. What the hell is going on? Is the bar really that high right now or am I seriously messing something up? I had a referral and had a recruiter reach out. TC: 275K #Google #iOS #engineering #software #swe
Lots of faang & ex-faang mobile folks in market now, so you are competing with good talent. Also mobile roles are saturated => too much competition; must ace all rounds perfectly for landing offers
Heard the whole “mobile roles are saturated” but not sure if that’s true. I’ve had a really good interview reply rate (significantly more than people I read on here) with multiple offers but I just want google 🥲
Not many openings. And the ones you see are mostly fulfilled with internal applicants.
Yeah I believe this. Been keeping an eye out for iOS roles and google seems to barely have any. Also heard the latter part that google opens a lot of them up for internal candidates. Oh well, hoping they’ll ramp up again sometime soon
