Google interview process timeline

A recruiter reached out about a role I had applied for via a referral (non tech) at the end of November last year. I did my first interview in the middle of December and the recruiter reached out asking if I wanted to continue the process around 3 weeks ago (I said yes but haven't had a reply yet, followed up a week ago). What is the average hiring timeline for Google? Should I expect this process to take another three months to close? The consistent lack of response is so frustrating!

I had first contact with a Google recruiter in October last year. Only signed my offer a few weeks ago. It takes ages.

Did you have periods of no response? I am waiting for the on site to be scheduled, I don't get why the recruiter goes dark for like a month!

Yeah, last year, I did the whole thing from late October to early March. By the time they gave me the official offer, I got promoted and didn’t feel like I wanted to leave anymore.

It can take that amount of time but it’s also just as likely that the team thought you were good not great. They’re likely meeting with more candidates. If the process is all said and done and you’re still available when the chosen candidate turns down their offer you might get the offer instead. Hurray for 2nd place.

You clearly have no idea how the Google hiring process works.

I like this LionofSF guy. He drafted a whole paragraph without the faintest of idea what he is talking about :)

I'm going through the exact same thing but with Apple.
