Google is hiring again?
Being pinged by recruiters incessantly since last week. They don’t seem to understand how to take signs for “not interested”. I feel like Google by it’s track record in past few months will decide to layoff again and generally create an environment of hunger games internally in the company similar to Amazon. Do you agree with my assessment or should I cave in to the “prestige” LC hard for a few weeks and interview. (I am good in my domain and decent in LC game as well). TC: ~400

It's weird if they are. My recruiter tells me there are no teams he's finding to match me to even though my HC is expiring next month. This is a lot of goofy stuff; they have a lot of candidates in the pipeline with no hopes of getting an offer, impending layoffs and they are interviewing more people over all this mess?
Recruiters get to keep their jobs. Google has a better understanding of talents in the market.

Cmon! I had initial interviews with a couple of teams. Profile was like a 90% match and both of them said they’ll setup my actual on-site. It’s been close to a year, still waiting for those on sites. Meanwhile, those positions are being reposted again and again and recruiter says they are still “evaluating” the reqs. This is for L5/6!

Happened to me, checked in with my Google friend. Recruiter just prepping candidates for possible lift in g hiring freeze since Google does their interviews slow. So if you are not looking to switch no point in going through interviews now.

Adding “few months” after “past” doesn’t change a lot. My question is still the same. Google has done only one layoff, right? Almost everyone did one layoff, why single out Google?
