Google: printing money, still decides to lay off both parents in family or people with medical conditions who need insurance. Also Google: don’t use word “ninja”, it is insensitive.
Idiots. Focusing on the wrong things.
Lol is that learning on the loo?
Yup
Lolll "learning on the loo" sounds like dystopian satire. Tryna take a shit? No worries, here's how we can squeeze in a bit of extra productivity, enjoy your loaf :)
Wish I worked in tech back when people used cool lingo like in the first column. Back then it must’ve been like being a member of a club where there was a sense of community and people respected and valued what they did. Sad to see the deterioration of community and the destructive effects of closed-minded views on our once-great industry. Do you think tech could ever be great again?
Placeholder != dummy wtf G
Sundar is dummy but not a placeholder.
Guaranteed that this list is not made by an engineer. Every single swe I know looks at list like this and say wtf
LMAO DEI exemplifying why they're worthless clowns. As if any of that shit matters.
I’m glad to be retiring in 5-10 years because the people asking for these lists are insufferable fragile little children and I can’t imagine working at a place where I was always walking on egg shells (Sorry chickens and other egg laying species!). I long for the days when parents taught their kids the difference between sticks and stones and words.
What will your NW be when you retire?
More than enough. My plan is to find a quiet place off grid, probably outside the U.S. and just read books, play guitar, chill with locals and make art until I’m 70-75. Then I’ll just take my life and go out on my own terms. Honestly though, the question implies you have a lot of work to do on yourself. Here’s a secret, you don’t need a lot of money in life to be happy.
Is Google trying to distract its employees from the layoffs by giving them this? 😆
Used a forbidden word = fired for cause, no severance!
It's funny that "Legacy" is used as the exact same euphemism for actual disenfranchisement. Like "legacy" admissions to Harvard or whatever
Even more so. Legacy is associated with established roots. Grandfather is something everyone has. Perhaps not in the future though.
Go woke
Hahaha. This DEI will drive us crazy.
Imagine there’s actually people out there paid to come up with this stuff.
If you really wanna cut costs and lay people off, there are better targets than engineers I’m js…
